Nightmare Follies - Episode 1: Stars Will Perish
starring Maja Loom and Micaela Schaefer
written by Maja Loom, Micaela Schaefer and Michael Huck
based on the story by Brian Sands
Produced & Directed by Michael Huck
Nightmare Follies is a new Gator Series, a little bit more darker
than the Unhappy End! series. Thriller and Horror themes.
The first episode Stars Will Perish a dark thriller about a crazy
young actress who kidnapps the star of a musical to take over
her part is shot in Berlin.
Micaela Schaefer plays a young, inexperienced actress
who dreams to be a star but she is only the understudy
of the shows star (Maja Loom), a musical ver-
sion of Troj.
The understudy lures the star to an audition for a movie
and kidnaps her, holding her prisoner in a dark, un-
canny cellar while she leaves to take over her part.
But then everything goes wrong.
Micaela Schaefer gives a wonderful performance of the frustrated
understudy who is jealous and angry to watch another girl playing
the starring part while producers and directors ignore her.
Her understudy is both vulnerable and kind of dangerous and
sadistic when she finally has the star of the show at her mercy.
Maja Loomwas supposed to play the part of the bad girl,
but finally played the victim. Looking back I think we took the
right decision.
Micalea was great playing the bad part with her wonderful clear
voice and playing her part a little bit kind of crazy and brutal
while Maja found a great way to play the showstar who finds
herself in a nightmare being held in that dungeon and being
tortured by that crazy and jealous understudy. Even tied up
she makes her understudy still feel inferiour and - when not
gagged - even makes fun of her understudy´s incompetence
and lack of talent. In the last scene when Maya beats up her
kidnapper she herself makes it look very kind of sadistic having
much fun breaking the bad girl every bone.
Playing the lead in thriller movie
is kind of horror.
Maja and Micaela are close to
perfect playing, acting and re-
acting with their eyes.
It´s always wonderful to have
actresses who know how to P L A Y
a part than rather to only say their
lines.
